Wilmington, NC (Kestrel Racing) – Kestrel Racing clinches the overall lead in the final race of the season beating out Hurricane Motorsports to become the first team to win the inaugural Cape Fear Cup Team Competition.
Rockingham, NC – Kestrel Racing driver Jeff Eng wins at the Speedfed Nationals autocross competition. Driving his #59 SS Motorsports/Workin4U sponsored Miata, Jeff Eng places 1st in TTU class and wins $200. Over 50 drivers competed in the autocross competition for bragging rights and cash prizes.
The Speedfed Nationals Event combines hundreds of top show cars and drivers competing in drifting, drag racing, autocross, and dyno wars.
Sanford, NC – Kestrel Racing team members Jeff Eng, Bernie Baake, and Gwen Baake participated in the third annual “Never Give Up” autocross on May 20, 2007 to help raise money for the V foundation. The event, hosted by the Tarheel Sports Car Club raised over $6000.
The V Foundation is a charitable organization dedicated to saving lives by helping to find a cure for cancer. The Foundation seeks to make a difference by generating broad-based support for cancer research and by creating an urgent awareness among all Americans of the importance of the war against cancer. Wilmington, NC – Danny Alvis, a local SCCA racer was killed Wednesday afternoon when his single-engine plane went down near Danville, VA.
Alvis was flying his Seawind 3000 amphibious aircraft from Carolina Beach, NC to Danville, Va. when the tragic accident occured. The Kestrel Racing Team would like to extend our deepest sympathies to the Alvis family.
